Tempting Treats for the Table

You are going to read an article about tea drinking and treats accompanying it. Answer the questions connected to the text.

1. Who set up the tradition of drinking tea from fine bone china? People from the Victorian Era.

2. How much tea is advised to add to the water? One heaped teaspoon of loose tea per cup.

3. Is it recommended to boil and serve tea in the same pot? No, you’d better have a pot for boiling water and one for serving tea.

4. What  was  the idea of adding milk to tea originally? It prevented fine china cups cracking from the heat of tea.

5. How should we put the teapot on the table? Place the teapot on the table so the spout is facing away from guests

6. Please draw how to serve sugar with tea! Serve it with tongs. 

7. Add an image or drawing of a cake stand with different courses on them! A three tiered cakestand with finger sandwiches, scones and tartlets on the top

8. How shall we layer clotted cream, jam and scone? Clotted should come first on the scone followed by jam preferably.
